We are seeking a dedicated and result-oriented Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in managing the scope for:
What you'll be doing
QA/QC MEP
- Assist in developing and executing the Quality Assurance Plan, Inspection \& Test Plans (ITPs), and project-specific quality procedures.
- Conduct inspections on civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection system works during various stages of construction.
- Perform material inspections, monitor workmanship, and verify compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor and document installation of systems critical to environmental control, such as High voltage, medium voltage, \& low voltage, and HVAC systems.
- Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure timely resolution through corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and third-party inspectors if any on quality-related issues.
- Support commissioning, validation, and system testing activities with clear documentation.
- Prepare daily/weekly QA/QC reports, maintain quality documentation and ensure proper record keeping for handover dossiers.
- Participate in internal \& external quality audits and assist in preparing compliance documentation.
- Support punch list management, final inspections, and close-out documentation.
Project Engineer, Mechanical
- Coordinate and supervise all mechanical works including installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure mechanical works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Attend project meetings and provide technical updates on mechanical work progress.
- Review mechanical drawings, technical submissions, shop drawings, and material specifications.
- Identify discrepancies or technical issues and propose solutions to the Project Manager and consultants.
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with project requirements, applicable codes, and standards.
- Supervise subcontractors and site teams to ensure works are executed safely, efficiently, and to required quality standards.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor workmanship quality for mechanical installations.
- Ensure inspection and test plans (ITP) are followed and records are properly maintained.
- Assist Project Manager in monitoring project progress and identifying potential delays or risks.
- Coordinate material delivery schedules to ensure timely availability for site installation.
- Support cost control by monitoring variations, reworks, and material usage.
- Ensure all mechanical works comply with EHS requirements, site safety rules, and statutory regulations.
- Coordinate closely with EHS Supervisor to promote safe work practices on site.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and safety briefings related to mechanical works.
- Support and coordinate testing, commissioning, and system handover activities.
- Ensure proper documentation for as-built drawings, operation \& maintenance (O\&M) manuals, and handover records.
- Assist in defect rectification during defect liability period.
- Perform any other project-related or ad hoc duties as assigned by management.
What we're looking for
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering works, preferably in construction, data centre, or critical environment projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (e.g. HVAC, piping, plumbing, fire protection – where applicable).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
- Familiar with site coordination, testing, and commissioning processes.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and manage site issues effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience with AutoCAD or project management tools is an added advantage.
Planner
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules across all project phases (design, procurement, construction, testing \& commissioning, handover) using software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather inputs for schedule development and progress updates.
- Ensure that schedules reflect all critical activities including design, procurement, construction, testing \& commissioning, and handover phases.
- Perform critical path analysis, schedule risk assessment, and resource loading where necessary.
- Track and report progress against baseline schedules and flag deviations or delays to relevant stakeholders.
- Support in preparation of weekly and monthly reports, including look-ahead schedules and recovery plans.
- Integrate subcontractor schedules into the master schedule and maintain alignment with overall project objectives.
- Participate in regular progress meetings, contribute to forecasting, and planning discussions.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of project-specific Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and activity coding.
- Coordinate with cost control teams to align schedule with budget and cost forecasts.
- Support claims and extension of time (EOT) analysis through schedule analysis when required.
What we're looking for
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant scheduling/planning experience, preferably with exposure to critical facilities such as clean rooms, data centres, or hospitals.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project is required.
- Understanding of project lifecycle, construction sequencing, and commissioning processes.
- Familiarity with project management tools and reporting standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities.
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
