Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, supervision, and successful execution of interior fit-out and porta cabin projects. The role will be responsible for coordinating between clients, project management, manufacturing, factory, site, and technical teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within schedule, and in accordance with quality requirements.
The Project Engineer will monitor project activities from initiation through completion, support tender and proposal preparation, coordinate production and site activities, and maintain effective communication with clients and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend project meetings and coordinate with current and potential clients to support business development activities.
- Coordinate project requirements between the factory, site teams, clients, and internal departments.
- Manage and monitor project activities from project initiation through completion.
- Supervise and coordinate Supervisors, Foremen, and site activities as required.
- Monitor project progress and production schedules to ensure timely completion and delivery.
- Coordinate with the Technical Support Team in preparing project proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.
- Attend client meetings and coordinate matters related to project procedures, claims, quality issues, progress, and project status.
- Coordinate with the Manufacturing Department regarding contracted projects, fabrication requirements, materials, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements for porta cabins and interior fit-out works.
- Monitor project deliverables and ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
- Identify project issues, delays, and coordination requirements and communicate them to the Project Manager.
- Maintain effective coordination between site operations, manufacturing, technical, procurement, and project management teams.
- Ensure project activities comply with applicable company procedures, quality standards, and health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Participate in relevant training programs and seminars to maintain and improve technical and professional knowledge.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the position as assigned by the Project Manager or management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- A background or additional qualification in Business Management / Project Management is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction, interior fit-out, contracting, manufacturing, or related project operations.
- Experience in interior fit-out, construction projects, or porta cabin/modular building projects is an advantage.
- Candidates with equivalent education, training, and relevant practical experience may also be considered.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong project coordination and supervision skills.
- Good knowledge of construction and interior fit-out processes.
- Good understanding of project schedules, quality requirements, and site coordination.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and design/visualization software.
- Good knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, industry practices, and performance standards.
- Ability to coordinate and work effectively across multiple disciplines and departments.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects or priorities.
- Proactive, resourceful, flexible, and able to take initiative.
- Strong commitment to project completion and customer satisfaction.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
