Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Director to join our team! In this role you will lead the development and delivery of a large, complex international program.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide direction and management for every phase of a large, multi-year program to ensure on-schedule completion, within or below budget, and in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Act as the company representative with the client, contractors, consultants, and key subcontractors during program execution.
  • Negotiate contracts and changes to the scope of work with the client and major contractors.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and the client to identify, market, and secure additional work. Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the program.
  • Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
  • Oversee establishment of the Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other required governance documents.
  • Establish program requirements for all areas of the project and monitor draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
  • Lead the development and distribution of monthly reports and prepare presentations as needed for senior management and decision-making boards.
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all business, technical, and administrative functions of the assigned program.
  • Assign responsibility for executing project plans to key team members after careful assessment of their qualifications and strengths.
  • Provide input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates.
  • Oversee field responsibilities, which may include labor relations, local procurement, and payroll operations, as applicable.
  • Mobilize company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
  • Define qualifications required for key project positions in coordination with profit center and department managers.
  • Collaborate with office facilities staff to address project space and resource requirements.
  • Work with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and implementation plans for the various elements of the program. Ensure that the program meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
  • Work with key project personnel to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.
  • Advise the client and company management of any such changes and their implications.
  • Maintain current and timely change orders and variation documentation.
  • Promote technical and commercial excellence on the program through application of Quality Assurance processes.
  • Monitor and report to management on the progress of all project activities within the program, including significant milestones and any conditions that could affect cost or schedule.
  • Establish regular (e.g., weekly) meetings to review project status and formulate action items.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Required Skills You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical or business field.
  • 20 years of related work experience in managing large, complex projects or programs.
  • Strong knowledge of major capital projects and construction, including supporting facilities, infrastructure, and systems.
  • Strong technical, contractual, and commercial background.
  • Previous program management experience on similar or related large-scope projects or programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading at least two large-scale projects.

Desired Skills You'll Bring

  • Professional registration or certification (e.g., PE, PMP, or equivalent) may be required or preferred.
  • Previous international experience is recommended.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary programs spanning several functional or technical areas.
  • Additional language skills are an advantage.
