The Mission
As a (Technical) Product Manager for the “Generic Means” digital product, you will be responsible for short and long terms roadmap, quarterly planning and its proper priority setting within the team and any dependencies, business requirements documentation and clarifications, as well as their delivery plans. It is key that the development and execution of the roadmap is aligned with several stakeholders (such as the business, IT, other global service providers, architects, security experts, designers and up and downstream squads in the value chain) you need to manage for new onboardings and integrations, new feature requirements, demos, quarterly planning etc.
For Generic Means digital product, there are 2 product teams contributing to the backlog: one will be (product) managed by you and the 2nd by another product manager, both of you being responsible to shape and contribute to the direction of the product. These are 2 out of the 7 squads contributing to One Gate product area, distributed between Amsterdam and Bucharest. You will be responsible for delivering and innovating the Generic Means solution at global scale, building up towards the future. These services will be used in both native (Android and iOS) and web applications of ING, serving millions of ING customers, by ensuring that a customer who logs into an application is the person he/she claims to be.
Your day to day
Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks.
Here are your daily responsibilities: * Responsible for Generic Means product at global scale, with short and long-term roadmaps, taking care of continuous improvements on productization, feature coverage and growing the product in sync with internal and external ING markets * Understand the aspects of a global product (build once, use it multiple times) so you can facilitate the consumer usage and integration, but also business requirements to cover the new business scenarios * Alignment with key stakeholders and manage the dependencies in the process chain * Provide the purpose, context, priorities, and direction to the product teams * Partner with your product area lead, the team’s tech chapter lead (CL) and PM peers to create and maintain a product backlog that aligns with the overall product area roadmap to maximize the business value * Design the processes and detail the specifications of the product in line with the standardized and scalable principles at area level * Develop requirements (written and diagrams (when appropriate)) throughout the product development in the form of Epics and Features (Stories are in the full autonomy of the teams, together with the tech CL – only support might be required from you) * Create and lead the planning of product releases, including coordination with other interdependent teams and communication with stakeholders to set the expectation for delivery of new features * Play an active role in identifying, mitigating, and communicating impediments impacting successful completion of Release/Sprint Goals * Enable consumers to have a great onboarding experience, get the value from our product, and minimize roadblocks. Guide them through features and functionalities from the start until the journey is successfully completed * Contribute on improving the adoption of services, measure consumer experience through metrics, create and re-think the onboarding flow based on feedback What you’ll bring to the team
