As a Private IB Grade 7 Science Tutor (Part-Time) at Excellence Training Centre, you will provide personalized, one-to-one academic support to a school student studying at Qatar Foundation. The tutor will be responsible for delivering engaging and structured lessons across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, while helping the student strengthen their conceptual understanding, academic performance, and confidence in Science.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver private, one-to-one Science tutoring aligned with the IB curriculum for Grade 7.
- Teach and explain concepts across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- Prepare structured and engaging lesson plans based on the student's academic needs and current curriculum.
- Explain complex scientific concepts in a simple, clear, and age-appropriate manner.
- Use practical examples, activities, diagrams, and relevant learning resources to reinforce understanding.
- Identify the student's strengths, weaknesses, and areas requiring additional academic support.
- Provide exercises, practice questions, assignments, and revision activities where appropriate.
- Monitor the student's academic progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Support the student in preparing for assessments, examinations, projects, and classroom activities.
- Adapt teaching methods according to the student's learning style and individual requirements.
- Maintain a professional, encouraging, and supportive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with the relevant ETC team regarding the student's progress and training requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong experience teaching or tutoring the IB curriculum, particularly at Grade 7 level.
- Strong subject knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- Previous experience providing private or one-to-one tutoring is preferred.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
- Ability to explain scientific concepts clearly and effectively in both English and Arabic.
- Strong understanding of IB teaching methodologies and student-centred learning approaches.
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to develop customized lessons according to the student's academic requirements.
- A Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a relevant subject area is preferred.
- Experience working with school students in an international or IB environment will be an advantage.
- Must be currently based in Qatar and available for onsite training.
Training Schedule
- 2 sessions per week
- 2 hours per session
- Evening sessions between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM
- Exact training days and dates will be finalized based on the student's schedule.
- Training hours and start time are tentative and may be adjusted according to the student's academic requirements.
Compensation
- QAR 150.00 – QAR 200.00 per hour (Part-Time Role)
- Travel allowance will be provided.
