Job Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for the overall coordination, deployment, and utilization of all construction plant, machinery, and transport vehicles across multiple sites. This role ensures operational readiness, compliance with preventive maintenance schedules, fuel and cost optimization, and regulatory adherence. Acting as the central point between site, office and yard operations, and drivers/operators, the PMV Coordinator optimizes resource allocation, manages transport logistics, and ensures safe and efficient operation of all equipment to support project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the deployment and movement of construction equipment, machinery, and transport vehicles across multiple sites in line with project schedules.
  • Monitor and optimize utilization of plant, machinery, and transport vehicles, tracking operating hours, fuel consumption, downtime, and overall efficiency.
  • Supervise operators, drivers, and technicians, ensuring adherence to safety procedures, operational guidelines, and proper handling of equipment.
  • Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for both plant and transport assets, liaising with PMV engineers and yard supervisors to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure timely mobilization and demobilization of heavy equipment, machinery, and vehicles, arranging RTA permits and compliance for oversized or specialized loads.
  • Maintain accurate logs for equipment and transport movements, maintenance history, fuel usage, and incidents, providing reports to management.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for transport and equipment rentals, ensuring schedules align with project timelines.
  • Advise project teams on equipment and transport requirements, identifying bottlenecks and recommending solutions for operational efficiency.
  • Implement and monitor HSE compliance for plant, machinery, and transport operations, including lifting, rigging, vehicle safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Prepare performance reports covering fleet utilization, equipment availability, transport efficiency, and operational issues.
  • Support budgeting and cost control by tracking expenses for transport operations, maintenance, spare parts, and fuel consumption.
  • Conduct site visits to assess equipment and transport operations, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical guidance to site coordinators and operators.
  • Ensure proper training of operators and drivers on safe, efficient, and compliant handling of all plant, machinery, and vehicles.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 9 or more years of experience in PMV within a UAE-based construction company.
