Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair water supply, drainage, sewage, and piping systems.
  • Inspect and repair plumbing fixtures, including faucets, sinks, toilets, showers, bathtubs, and water heaters.
  • Respond promptly to guest room and public area maintenance requests related to plumbing.
  • Detect and repair water leaks to minimize water loss and property damage.
  • Clear blocked drains, toilets, and sewer lines using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing systems according to the hotel's maintenance schedule.
  • Monitor water pumps, tanks, valves, pressure systems, and related equipment.
  • Coordinate with other engineering team members during maintenance projects and renovations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and materials used.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, health and safety regulations, and local building codes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper handling of tools and equipment.
  • Assist with emergency maintenance duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical certification or vocational training in Plumbing is preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of plumbing experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or commercial property.
  • Knowledge of plumbing systems, pumps, water heaters, drainage systems, and plumbing tools.
  • Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to read plumbing drawings and technical manuals is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency call-outs.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Working Conditions

  • Indoor and outdoor work in various areas of the hotel.
  • Exposure to water, chemicals, heat, and confined spaces.
  • May be required to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Performance Expectations

  • Complete plumbing repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Minimize downtime and disruptions to hotel operations.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.
  • Support the Engineering Department in achieving preventive maintenance goals.
