Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PHP Developer with strong expertise in Core PHP and Laravel framework. The role involves designing and developing scalable backend systems, building secure and high-performance web applications, integrating frontend technologies like React, and managing relational databases efficiently. The candidate should have strong expertise in database optimization, code quality standards, logging, validation, and audit mechanisms to ensure system reliability, maintainability, and traceability. Exposure to AI-based integrations is an added advantage.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using PHP and Laravel framework
• Design and implement scalable backend architecture and RESTful APIs
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate React.js-based user interfaces
• Design, optimize, and manage relational databases (MySQL), including schema design, normalization, indexing, query optimization, and database optimization for performance and scalability
• Ensure high performance, scalability, and stability of database-driven applications
• Implement and maintain high code quality standards, including clean code practices, reusable components, proper documentation, and adherence to coding guidelines
• Perform code reviews to ensure maintainability, consistency, and best practices across the development team
• Implement robust logging, request validation, and audit mechanisms to ensure application reliability, security, and traceability of critical operations
• Optimize application performance, security, and responsiveness
• Work with version control systems such as Git (GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket)
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing applications
• Integrate third-party APIs and external services
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making
• Explore and implement AI-based features or integrations where required

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of experience in PHP development
• Strong hands-on experience with Laravel framework
• Solid understanding of MVC architecture and design patterns
• Strong experience in MySQL database design, optimization, and management
• Expertise in database optimization techniques (query tuning, indexing, schema optimization, performance improvement)
• Strong focus on code quality, clean architecture, and best coding practices
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and backend development
• Working knowledge of React.js for frontend integration
• Good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of web application security best practices

Good to Have (Preferred Skills)

• Experience with AI/ML integrations or AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, automation tools)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Knowledge of Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Familiarity with caching systems like Redis or Memcached
• Experience with additional PHP frameworks (Symfony, CodeIgniter, Yii)
• ⁠Experience in implementing technical SEO best practices, including SEO-friendly URLs, meta tags, schema markup, and performance optimization for better search engine visibility.
