Photographer, Graphic Design, Visual Communications Assistant

Overview
We are seeking creative and detail-oriented Photographer, Graphic Designer, Visual Communications Assistant and Website Designer on a contractual basis. This contract offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to visual storytelling, develop compelling graphics, and support various multimedia projects. The ideal candidate(s) will possess a strong eye for aesthetics, proficiency in industry-standard software, and a passion for visual arts, as well as specific expertise in web design and strong knowledge in building and updating WordPress websites. This position is perfect for individuals looking to expand their portfolio and gain hands-on experience in a collaborative environment. Students in post-secondary programs in these subjects and new graduates will be considered and are encouraged to apply. Please note this is not a remote position - do not apply if you expect this to be remote. Work will take place on-site in Dartmouth, NS. Duties

• Capture high-quality photographs and videos for marketing materials, social media content, website, and internal communications
• Website maintenance, building pages, website design in WordPress
• Edit and enhance images and videos
• Design engaging graphics, banners, and visual assets
• Create and assist in video editing projects
• Collaborate with team members to develop creative concepts that align with brand messaging
• Support the creation of multimedia presentations and digital content for various platforms
• Maintain organized archives of digital assets for easy retrieval and future use
• Stay updated on current design trends and photography techniques to continually improve quality

Requirements

• Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Creative Suite, and Final Cut Pro.
• Experience in WordPress websites, e.g. building and adding pages and features to existing websites or new websites, and social media
• Strong portfolio demonstrating photography and videography skills, graphic design work, and multimedia projects.
• Excellent eye for detail, color, composition, and visual storytelling.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills to articulate creative ideas clearly.
• Must have your own equipment and software to do the work.
• Experience or coursework related to photography, graphic design, or visual communications is preferred, but students and new grads with portfolios are encouraged to apply as we will consider all experience levels
