Pharmacy Assistant / Dispenser / Technician –(Maternity Cover-Full Time)

We're looking for a reliable, organised person to join our busy dispensary team at Brennan's Pharmacy Buncrana on a full-time maternity cover contract (approximately 9 months, with potential for extension). Previous pharmacy experience is desirable, but we also welcome applicants with excellent attention to detail, strong computer skills and a genuine interest in healthcare. You'll play an important role in helping patients receive safe, accurate and compassionate pharmacy care every day.

Your Day-to-Day

• Customer Care: Be the welcoming face of the pharmacy — greeting patients, answering queries and making every visit a positive experience
• OTC Sales \& Advice: Guide customers confidently through over-the-counter medicines, health products and beauty ranges
• Anticipate Needs: Listen and recommend complementary products that genuinely add value to customers' health and wellbeing
• Prescription Preparation: Preparing prescriptions accurately for final pharmacist checking
• Dispensing Support: Assisting with prescription processing
• Compliance Packs: Preparing compliance (blister) packs
• Dispensary Organisation: Keeping the dispensary organised and running smoothly
• Stock Control: Maintaining accurate stock levels and keeping the shop floor well presented
• Team Support: Working closely with the pharmacist team to keep everything running smoothly in a busy environment

We value attitude, aptitude and attention to detail as much as previous pharmacy experience.

About You

This role may suit:

• someone with strong administrative, healthcare or customer service experience who is keen to develop a career in pharmacy
• an experienced pharmacy assistant or dispenser
• a qualified Pharmacy Technician

You'll be organised, dependable and enjoy working carefully in a busy healthcare environment. You'll also be comfortable using computers and learning new systems. A third-level qualification (NFQ Level 6–8) is an advantage but not essential. If applying as a technician, you should hold a Pharmacy Technician qualification recognised for employment as a Pharmacy Technician in Ireland (or be due to complete one imminently).

Full training and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidate.
