About the Team

CHQ Pharmacy is dedicated to providing and supporting high quality clinical and medication management services to the children and young people of CHQ. The pharmacy service has a staff of approximately 110, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, administrative staff and support staff. The pharmacy team provides services to inpatients, outpatients, hospital in the home, cancer care services, poisons information, aseptic compounding, clinical trials along with safety, quality and governance. The Queensland Poisons Information Service is part of CHQ Pharmacy and provides 24 hour a day emergency service in cases of poisoning.

About the Role

The position of Pharmacist Senior - Surgical will:

Provide high level clinical pharmacy services and provide day to day clinical supervision and support to less experienced pharmacy practitioners in high acuity and complex surgical, cardiology and mental health units and outpatient clinics (including but not limited to cardiac surgery, solid organ transplant, gastroenterology, hepatology, burns, complex post-operative pain management).

Actively participate in teaching and training, service development and improvement, supervision and departmental planning.
