Job Description

Overview
We are a modern boutique pharmacy delivering personalized care to our local community and partner long-term care homes. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals in various settings, including hospitals and acute care environments.

Duties

  • Review and interpret medication orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of therapy.
  • Provide clinical consultation to physicians, nurses, and other health professionals regarding medication selection, dosing, interactions, and side effects.
  • Prepare and dispense medications, including compounding when necessary.
  • Counsel patients/residents and caregivers on proper use of medications, storage, potential side effects, and interactions..
  • Monitor patient outcomes and adjust medication therapy as needed.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, expiry dates, and narcotic documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.

Skills

  • Current licensure in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia .
  • Authorization to administer injections.
  • Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy software (e.g., Kroll, PointClickCare) is an asset.
  • Experience with prescription checking for long-term care homes and knowledge of eMAR systems will be considered a strong asset.

Pay: $50.00-$55.00 per hour
