We are currently looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Community Pharmacist to join our team, drive clinical excellence, and lead our dispensing operations.
The Role
As our Community Pharmacist, you will be at the forefront of patient care, ensuring the safe, effective, and legal supply of medicines. Moving beyond traditional dispensing, you will spearhead a service-led clinical approach, offering vital health advice, conducting clinical consultations, and supporting the wellbeing of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispensing \& Clinical Safety: Prepare, check, and dispense prescription medications safely and accurately, identifying potential drug interactions and ensuring treatments are appropriate for each patient.
- Patient Consultations: Carry out confidential assessments and treat a range of common conditions in our private consultation room, including services offered through the NHS Pharmacy First scheme.
- Healthcare Services: Organise and administer vaccinations (such as flu, COVID-19, and travel vaccines) in line with national programmes, and conduct health checks like blood pressure monitoring and weight management advice.
- Medicines Advice: Advise patients on over-the-counter remedies, correct dosages, potential side effects, and general lifestyle changes to complement their treatment plans.
- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and support the pharmacy team, ensuring high standards of customer service and professional development.
- Operations \& Governance: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all medications, stock ordering, and ensure strict compliance with GPhC guidelines and pharmacy law.
- Relationship Building: Liaise confidently with local GPs, nurses, and other primary care professionals to ensure joined-up, safe patient care.
Requirements
- Education: MPharm Degree (or equivalent).
- Registration: Current and valid registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Skills: Exceptional communication and active listening skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly to the general public.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, commercial awareness, and a responsible, ethical approach to patient welfare.
