Pastry Chef
Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality pastries, cakes, desserts, and baked products while maintaining exceptional standards of quality, presentation, food safety, and consistency.
The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and experienced in a professional pastry production environment, with a strong commitment to delivering outstanding products and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, bake, and decorate a variety of pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and specialty products.
- Ensure all products are produced according to approved recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Monitor ingredient quality, stock levels, and product freshness.
- Maintain consistency in taste, appearance, and portion control.
- Assist in developing new pastry and dessert offerings.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Operate and maintain pastry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Minimize waste and support cost-control initiatives.
- Coordinate with kitchen and production teams to meet daily operational requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional working environment.
- Support inventory management and stock rotation procedures.
- Assist in training junior pastry staff when required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Pastry Cook, Baker, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of pastry preparation, baking techniques, and dessert production.
- Ability to create and execute high-quality pastries and desserts consistently.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Team-oriented attitude with excellent work ethics.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Immediate joiners will be given preference.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certification in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, Baking, or a related field.
- Experience in cafés, bakeries, pastry shops, hotels, or restaurant operations.
- Knowledge of modern pastry trends, cake decoration, and dessert presentation techniques.
- Experience with large-scale pastry production is an advantage.
Pay: KD450.000 - KD650.000 per month
