Job Summary

Bhrigu Consultancy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Database Consultant to provide expert-level support, administration, optimization, and strategic guidance for Oracle database environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing Oracle database solutions that support critical business applications and ensure high levels of performance, security, and availability.

This role is ideal for a database professional with extensive Oracle expertise, strong troubleshooting abilities, and experience delivering database solutions in enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, and maintain Oracle Database environments across development, testing, and production systems.
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize efficiency and reliability.
• Perform database upgrades, migrations, patch management, and version control activities.
• Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, performance bottlenecks, and system failures.
• Implement database security controls, user access management, and data protection measures.
• Support high-availability solutions including Oracle Data Guard, RAC, and replication technologies.
• Collaborate with application developers and business stakeholders to optimize database design and application performance.
• Conduct database health checks, audits, and capacity planning assessments.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system architecture diagrams.
• Provide technical recommendations and best practices for database governance and lifecycle management.
• Support cloud and hybrid database initiatives where applicable.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience administering and consulting on Oracle Database environments.
• Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration (DBA), performance tuning, backup and recovery, and database security.
• Experience with Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, and Enterprise Manager.
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database performance optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments supporting Oracle databases.
• Experience with database migration, upgrade, and integration projects.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and client-facing consulting abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Master (OCM), or equivalent Oracle certifications.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and cloud-based database services.
• Familiarity with database automation, scripting, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, business intelligence, and ETL processes.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or multi-site database environments.
