Job Summary

Bhrigu Consultancy is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Oracle Database Consultant to provide expert guidance, administration, optimization, and support for enterprise Oracle database environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing Oracle database solutions that support critical business operations while ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

This role is ideal for a database professional with strong Oracle expertise, consulting experience, and a passion for delivering reliable and scalable database solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, and maintain Oracle Database environments across development, testing, and production systems.
• Perform database administration tasks including monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
• Implement and manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, and backup/recovery solutions.
• Conduct database upgrades, migrations, patch management, and system enhancements.
• Analyze database performance metrics and implement optimization strategies.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for database systems.
• Manage database security, user access controls, encryption, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with application developers and technical teams to optimize database design and application performance.
• Perform database health checks, audits, and risk assessments.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and architecture diagrams.
• Provide technical consulting, recommendations, and best practices to clients and stakeholders.
• Support cloud database deployments and hybrid infrastructure initiatives when required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration and consulting roles.
• Strong expertise in Oracle Database architecture, administration, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, and Enterprise Manager.
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, database optimization, and query tuning.
• Experience with Linux and Windows server environments.
• Strong understanding of database backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions.
• Knowledge of database security standards and compliance best practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and client relationship management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Master (OCM), or equivalent Oracle certifications.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and cloud database services.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, automation tools, and scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or PowerShell.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and business intelligence platforms.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise database environments.
