Online English, Maths or Science Tutor - KS3 \& KS4

Remote \| Part-time \| £15–£18 per hour

Ivy High is recruiting tutors for Years 7–11 in English, Maths and Science. You can apply to teach one or more subjects - you do not need to teach all three.

Subject areas:

• English: KS3 English and GCSE English Language and Literature.
• Maths: KS3 and GCSE Maths.
• Science: KS3 Science and GCSE Double Award Science, covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

We’re looking for warm, personable and enthusiastic tutors who bring lessons to life. Online teaching needs clear explanations, meaningful interaction and the energy to keep students involved.

Our ethos is simple: students should feel comfortable asking questions, confident sharing ideas and supported to make progress. If you combine strong subject knowledge with care, creativity and high expectations, we’d love to hear from you.

The role

• Plan and deliver engaging live online lessons in your subject.
• Set and mark work, giving clear feedback students can act on.
• Track progress and adapt teaching to different needs and abilities.
• Create a welcoming classroom where every student has opportunities to participate.

You’ll need

• A recognised teaching qualification and relevant secondary teaching experience.
• Experience teaching your subject at GCSE or IGCSE level.
• Confidence maintaining engagement in an online classroom.
• Strong organisation, reliable communication and a commitment to safeguarding.

Working arrangements

Live lessons run Monday–Thursday during UK daytime hours. Teaching hours will be agreed before appointment. You’ll need a private workspace, reliable internet and suitable equipment.

Pay is £15–£18 per hour, depending on experience. We’ll confirm which duties the hourly rate covers, including arrangements for preparation, marking and meetings, before appointment.

How to apply

Send your CV, availability and a one-minute video introduction to [email protected], using “Tutor Application — [Your Subject]” as the subject.

Please state which subjects you can teach. In your video, briefly introduce yourself and tell us a little about yourself. A simple webcam recording is fine.

Ivy High is committed to safeguarding children. Appointment is subject to satisfactory references, qualification checks and appropriate safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check.
