Online KS3 and GCSE English Tutor

Elevate English GCSE is looking for an experienced, qualified English teacher to deliver engaging online lessons to small groups of KS3 and GCSE students. There may also be opportunities for 1:1 tuition.

We’re looking for a tutor who can build positive relationships with students, adapt confidently within a group, and give clear, specific feedback that helps them improve their reading, analysis and writing.

Responsibilities

• Teach live, interactive online English lessons during UK term time
• Adapt explanations and activities for students with different abilities and learning needs
• Encourage participation and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions
• Give students actionable feedback on their writing and track their progress
• Teach the relevant AQA GCSE or Pearson Edexcel iGCSE specification confidently
• Communicate with the Elevate English GCSE team about student progress and lesson handovers

Essential requirements

• Qualified teacher status and at least three years’ experience teaching English
• GCSE examining experience or English department leadership experience
• Experience teaching AQA GCSE English and/or Pearson Edexcel iGCSE English
• Strong experience delivering effective, interactive lessons online
• Confidence differentiating for mixed-ability groups and supporting varied learning needs
• A current enhanced DBS check
• Availability for regular lessons throughout UK term time and commitment for the remainder of the academic year
• A reliable internet connection and suitable equipment for online teaching
• Must be comfortable teaching online via zoom

Pay: £40.00-£60.00 per hour
