Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Act as an Occupational Therapist within a multidisciplinary team, developing collaborative, needs based care plans, through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Responsible to perform clinical and administrative duties in the assigned clinical area.

Responsibility:

Policies and Procedures

  • Ensure established unit policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programmes, and service standards are adhered to.
  • Interpret unit policies and procedures to new staff.

Clinical

  • Assess and analyse individual patients to determine their need for occupational therapy intervention through patient-centred practice.
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, treat and progress patients care, incorporating risk assessment, to maximise functional independence and rehabilitation potential.
  • Evaluate outcomes and ensure effectiveness of interventions.
  • Formulate a broad range of care plans, which require adjustment and modification dependent on need.
  • Planning and implementing patient-centred interventions, using specialised skills such as activity analysis, lifestyle management, energy conservation, anxiety management, specific functional activity, equipment provision and adaptations to the patient’s social, psychological and physical environment to achieve therapeutic goals.
  • Provide timely visits, including home visits and environmental visits as necessary to ensure patients successfully transition home. Resolve any identified issues.
  • Select relevant standard and non - standardised assessment tools from a wide range of choices, and monitor evaluate and modify treatment in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention.
  • Practice diligent and accurate clinical documentation in Hospital Information System (HIS).
  • To undertake clinical audit or other projects to promote evidence-based practice, develop the service and maintain efficiency and effectiveness.

Training and Education

  • Participate in department clinical in-service training.
  • Participate in general orientation of new staff of Rehab Centre.
  • To develop and deliver training programmes for a wide range of professionals and carers to educate carers and significant others in the understanding of both the therapy process and any intervention relating to the management of patients medical and social needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
