Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Network Planning \& Design Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Genoa , Italy .

Mission

The position is for a Telecom Engineer to work on design and project implementation tasks of Telecommunication Systems such as radio (GSM-R), Multi Service Network (IP, MPLS, SDH), Telephone System, Voice Recording System, Master Clock, Fiber Optic backbone and Public Information System.

Accountabilities

• Design the network architecture in order to fulfil the contractual requirements.
• Develop technical design documentation for communication projects.
• Supplier management: purchase technical specification preparation, supplier assessment, periodical meetings, verification of the design documentation prepared by the supplier, supervision of the site activities carried out by the supplier (site survey, test and commissioning, site acceptance test and site integration test).
• Interfaces management: to have a relationship with all project team members and manage formally the related interfaces.
• Contract requirements management.
• Liaising with all internal functions: engineering team, bidding, sales, procurement, supply chain, project management for the completion of every phases of the bids and projects.
• Develop a high-level bill of material defining the typology, the model and the HW/SW configuration, including the requested network management systems.
• Perform test and commissioning of the IP networks.
• Perform IP network troubleshooting on site and remotely.
• Maintain an open action items list and produce effective reporting.

Required skills/knowledge/experience

• Knowledge of IP networking: LAN e WAN, layer 2 and layer 3.
• Basic capacity to configure network equipment layer 2 and layer 3 like Cisco.
• Basic capacity to perform IP network troubleshooting on site and remotely.
• Knowledge of backbone transmission systems: IP/MPLS, MPLS/TP and SDH.
• Knowledge of the principles of Radio Transmission Systems.
• Knowledge of the principles of optical fibre communication.
• At least 3 years expertise in the role.

Desired skills/knowledge

• Basic knowledge of VoIP telephone systems.
• Basic knowledge of Radio Systems: WiFI.
• Basic knowledge of Master Clock Systems.
• Basic knowledge of Voice recording System.
• Basic knowledge in autocad design.

Education/Qualification

Master's Degree (Engineering).

Languages

Fluent in English.

Education/Qualifications

Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology Qualifications/ University Degree or Equivalent Technical Background.

Languages

English proficiency.

Alla posizione si applica il vigente CCNL per l’industria metalmeccanica privata e l’installazione di impianti, con inquadramento nel livello B1, ai sensi della relativa disciplina di classificazione del personale. Fork/Retribuzione Annua Lorda (€) : 33.000 - 40.000.
