Contract Term: 5 months initially, with the potential to extend into a long-term role

Pay: From $40 per hour

Days and Hours - 2 Days per week

About the Family

A warm and welcoming family based in Thornbury, VIC is seeking an experienced, nurturing nanny to care for their happy 7-month-old daughter.

The family also has an older child aged 4 years; although the role is primarily focused on caring for the baby there will be some care required for the older child in the mornings and afternoons/evenings.

They are looking for a nanny who is warm, honest and reliable, and who genuinely enjoys caring for babies and supporting their development through attentive, engaging care.

The Role

This is a lovely opportunity for a nanny who enjoys working with infants and building strong, long-term relationships with families.

The role will mainly focus on providing attentive care for the youngest child while supporting her daily routine and developmental milestones.

A typical day may include:

  • Feeding and caring for the children throughout the day
  • Supporting naps and maintaining the babies routine
  • Reading books, singing songs and engaging in age-appropriate play
  • Taking the baby for walks in the local area
  • Encouraging learning and development through interactive play
  • Providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment

Household Duties

The child s care will always be the priority. When time permits, the family would appreciate assistance with:

  • Children s laundry
  • General tidying of children s areas
  • Light household duties
  • Basic meal preparation for the family, such as preparing a simple pasta or similar family meal

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years experience caring for children
  • Experience caring for babies and young children
  • Childcare qualifications highly regarded
  • Current First Aid CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Strong references from previous childcare roles
  • Non-smoker
  • Strong communication skills
