Job Description

Personal Assistant to Orthopaedic Surgeon

We are seeking a highly organised, personable, and proactive Personal Assistant to join a growing private orthopaedic practice. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within healthcare administration and grow alongside a dynamic and expanding practice.

This role is ideal for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering exceptional service, and enjoys building strong relationships with patients, specialists, and allied health professionals.

About the Role

As the Personal Assistant to the Orthopaedic Surgeon, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the practice. You will be trusted to manage administrative operations, support patient coordination, and help create a welcoming and professional experience for all patients and referrers.

We are looking for someone who is not just seeking a job, but someone who is excited by the opportunity to develop a meaningful and long-term career within a supportive and growing medical practice. Someone who can increase hours as the practice grows, initially 15hrs per week and slowly transitioning to full time hours further down the line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing appointments, surgical bookings, and diary coordination
  • Liaising with patients, hospitals, referrers, and allied health providers
  • Providing high-level administrative and personal support to the surgeon
  • Managing correspondence, emails, and phone enquiries professionally
  • Assisting with practice organisation, systems, and workflow management
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and confidentiality
  • Supporting the ongoing growth and development of the practice

About You

  • Exceptional organisational and administrative skills
  • Warm, professional, and personable communication style
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Calm and compassionate approach when dealing with patients
  • Strong computer and office administration skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to grow with the practice
  • Previous medical administration experience is highly regarded, but not essential for the right candidate

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing specialist practice
  • Supportive and collaborative working environment
  • Exposure to the private healthcare and surgical industry
  • Opportunity for professional growth and increased responsibility over time
  • A rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference in patient care

If you are driven, organised, and looking for a career opportunity where you can become an integral part of a growing practice, we would love to hear from you.

Please submit your resume and cover letter outlining why you would be a great fit for the role.
