CIEMAT is offering a Mechanical Engineer position with the CTAO LST Collaboration.

The first Large-Sized Telescope (LST) was installed on CTAO-North in 2018, and the next three telescopes are now nearing completion of their installation. Spanish groups have designed and built essential mechanical components of the LST telescope structures and detectors. CIEMAT is responsible for commissioning these components over the coming years.

CIEMAT’s Astroparticle Division is seeking a mechanical engineer for:

• Participating in LST assembly activities.
• Participating in LST commissioning.
• Designing the humidity-control system for the LST telescope cameras.
• Preparing maintenance manuals for the mechanical subsystems of the LSTs.
• Managing LST mechanics engineering documentation.
• Coordinating maintenance, upgrade, and testing work on the LST telescopes.
