Mechanic

Overview

Action Tire Company is seeking a dependable, motivated, and mechanically inclined Preventive Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on our fleet of commercial trucks, trailers, and shop equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Must be able to work full time.

Responsibilities:

● Perform scheduled preventive maintenance services on commercial trucks and trailers

● Change engine oil, filters, fuel filters, and lubricate chassis components.

● Inspect brakes, tires, lights, suspension, steering, and fluid levels.

● Perform DOT safety inspections and report any defects.

● Replace belts, hoses, batteries, lights, wiper blades, and other wear items.

● Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.

● Keep the shop clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.

● Assist senior mechanics with larger repairs when needed.

● Identify potential mechanical issues before they become major repairs.

● Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications:

● Previous preventive maintenance or diesel mechanic experience preferred.

● Basic knowledge of diesel engines, trailers, and commercial vehicles.

● Ability to safely operate shop equipment and power tools.

● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

● Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus but not required.

● Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.

● Reliable attendance and a positive team-oriented attitude.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
