Material Coordinator – Fire Protection

Job Overview

We are seeking an Material Coordinator – Fire Protection to plan, procure, track, inspect and deliver materials for fire fighting and fire protection projects. The role coordinates with procurement, engineering, warehouse, suppliers, subcontractors and project teams to ensure approved materials meet requirements and support timely installation, testing and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate material requirements for fire fighting and fire protection systems throughout the project.
• Prepare and monitor procurement schedules, trackers, expediting reports and delivery plans.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, commercial, warehouse and project teams on requirements and priorities.
• Prepare material requisitions, purchase requests, purchase orders and procurement documents.
• Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors and logistics providers on quotations, lead times and deliveries.
• Follow up on material approvals, submittals, samples, compliance documents and supplier information.
• Ensure materials comply with approved specifications, project requirements, manufacturer recommendations and applicable standards.
• Coordinate procurement of fire pumps, sprinklers, valves, hydrants, hose reels, risers, tanks, pipework, fittings, supports, extinguishers, suppression equipment and accessories.
• Monitor availability, lead times, shipments, deliveries and supply chain risks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree, higher diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Relevant experience as a Material Coordinator, Procurement Coordinator, Materials Controller, Logistics Coordinator or similar.
• Experience coordinating materials for fire protection, fire fighting, MEP, mechanical, construction or building services projects.
• Understanding of procurement, supplier coordination, expediting, logistics, warehouse control and material management.
• Ability to review drawings, specifications, schedules, quantities, purchase orders and delivery documents.
• Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively with project, warehouse, procurement and site teams.
• High accuracy, accountability, commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
