Job Description

Marketing Coordinator (Part-Time)

The Othen Group \| Real Broker Ontario Ltd., Brokerage

Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Part-Time \| Approx. 20 – 30 hrs/week

Who We Are

The Othen Group is a Toronto real estate team that has built its entire business on trust. We specialize in helping people downsize, right-size, and navigate major life transitions, and our clients come to us because someone they trust sent them our way. That’s not an accident. It’s the result of 15+ years of doing right by people.

We’re a small, close-knit team, and we take pride in that. We’re not trying to be the biggest. We’re trying to be the best for the people we serve.

The Opportunity

Here’s the honest version: our social media doesn’t yet reflect who we are. The brand, the voice, the visual presence: there’s real room to grow, and we know it. That’s why we’re bringing someone on who can change that.

This role is for someone who lives and breathes social content, specifically Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Someone who knows what makes people stop scrolling, what builds a following over time, and how to translate a brand’s personality into content that actually connects. You’ll own this. Not assist with it. Own it.

Beyond social, you’ll be managing our monthly email marketing and producing content for our direct mail farm, including the traditional touchpoints that still matter a lot in real estate. This is a full-picture marketing role, just right-sized for where we are today.

What You’ll Be Doing

Social Media: This Is the Core of the Role

  • Build and execute a content strategy across Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok that reflects the Othen Group brand
  • Create and produce content: graphics, reels, short-form video, carousels, whatever the platform calls for
  • Develop a consistent look and feel that feels polished and trustworthy, not generic
  • Grow our audience and, more importantly, convert that audience into people who reach out
  • Engage with our community: respond to comments, build relationships, stay present
  • Track what’s working and adjust. Be curious about performance, not just output

Email Marketing

  • Plan and send our monthly email to our client and prospect list
  • Write copy that sounds like a real person: warm, credible, worth reading
  • Keep our list healthy and our send schedule consistent

Traditional Marketing \& Farm Content

  • Design and coordinate content for our direct mail farm: postcards, newsletters, seasonal mailers
  • Work with print vendors to get things produced and out the door on time
  • Make sure our traditional and digital presence feels like they belong to the same brand

Who You Are

You have a real feel for social media, not just how to use the platforms, but how to build something on them. You’ve grown accounts before, or you’ve created content that people actually engaged with, and you can show us that work.

You’re a strong communicator and a good writer. You can adapt your voice to match a brand’s tone rather than just defaulting to your own. You’re creative, but you’re also organized enough to keep a content calendar moving without someone chasing you.

You’re comfortable using AI tools as a major part of how you work, for ideation, drafts, and research, and you know the difference between using AI as a starting point and actually producing something good.

You’ll need:

  • Proven experience creating content for Instagram, YouTube, and/or TikTok, with a portfolio or examples you can share
  • Strong design instincts and hands-on experience with Canva (Adobe tools are a bonus)
  • Comfort on camera or behind it. You understand how short-form video works
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or similar)
  • Good writing skills: you can write a caption, a subject line, and a mailer copy block, without it sounding robotic
  • Familiarity with AI tools and how to use them well
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own time

It’s a bonus if you have:

  • Experience in real estate, home services, or any trust-based, relationship-driven industry
  • Experience producing or coordinating direct mail pieces
  • A genuine interest in the people we serve: older adults, families in transition, people making big decisions

Why This Role

Most marketing jobs at small businesses mean doing a bit of everything without much impact. This one is different. Social media is genuinely underdeveloped for us, which means there is real upside. You’ll be able to see the difference you’re making.

You’ll work directly with Jacquie and have real input into how the brand shows up. If you do good work, you’ll hear about it. If something isn’t working, we’ll talk about it. It’s a small team, so nothing gets lost.

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
