CMTL Group is currently seeking experienced Maintenance Fitters and Maintenance Electricians to join a well-established gold mining operation at Mt Carlton Mine, Queensland.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with previous fixed plant maintenance experience who are looking to join a professional team within a gold production environment.

Travel Requirements

This is not a FIFO position.

Suitable applicants must either:

• Be based in the Townsville region and utilise company-provided bus transport to and from site; or
• Be based in the Mackay region and be willing to drive to site at the commencement and completion of each roster.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Fitters

• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant equipment
• Maintain crushers, conveyors, pumps, screens and processing equipment
• Fault finding and diagnosis of mechanical issues
• Equipment inspections and condition monitoring
• Shutdown maintenance and component change-outs
• Complete maintenance records and reports

Maintenance Electricians

• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on processing plant electrical systems
• Fault finding and troubleshooting of electrical equipment
• Maintain motors, drives, switchboards, instrumentation and control systems
• Assist with shutdown and maintenance activities
• Ensure compliance with statutory and site electrical requirements
• Complete maintenance documentation and reporting

Essential Requirements

• Trade Qualification (Mechanical Fitter or Electrical Fitter/Mechanic)
• Previous fixed plant maintenance experience within mining or mineral processing
• Strong understanding of maintenance systems and safe work practices
• Experience working within processing plants
• Current Driver's Licence
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug \& alcohol screening
• Strong commitment to workplace safety

Highly Desirable

• Previous gold processing plant experience
• Experience in crushing, conveying and mineral processing circuits
• Forklift Licence
• Confined Space
• Working at Heights
• High Voltage Switching (Electricians)
• Instrumentation experience (Electricians)
• Welding and fabrication experience (Fitters)
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Standard 11 or mining inductions

About You

We are looking for candidates who are not green to the mining industry and can confidently step into a maintenance role with minimal supervision. Previous exposure to gold processing operations will be highly regarded, along with a proactive attitude toward safety, reliability and teamwork.
