Accenture, recognized as a Great Place To Work®, is a leading global professional services company that helps major businesses, public administrations, and other organizations around the world develop their digital core, optimize their operations, accelerate revenue growth, and improve services for citizens, creating tangible value at speed and scale.
Join our Strategy team in the Mergers \& Acquisitions practice, where you will contribute to projects across the entire deal lifecycle from both a strategic and operational perspective. You will work with clients on market analysis, target identification, due diligence (IT, commercial and operational), complex integrations and carve-outs, as well as the definition and implementation of transformation and value creation plans. You will help clients achieve results in challenging and often time-sensitive environments.
This role is focused on strategic thinking and solving business problems, rather than solely on financial modelling, valuation, or investment activities.
The position is based in Madrid and follows a hybrid working model, combining remote work with time in the office, where you will collaborate closely with your team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses, including competitive benchmarking and M\&A target identification, using Excel, AI tools, and market intelligence platforms such as Capital IQ, FactSet, PitchBook, MergerMarket, or similar.
- Perform due diligence activities, including assessment of business models, commercial strategy reviews, value drivers, competitive positioning, cost structures, and operational risks, among others. Support clients in developing and validating their investment thesis, equity story, and inorganic growth strategies.
- Develop structured business cases and prepare executive presentations for clients, investment committees, and senior stakeholders.
- Support post-merger integration (PMI) and separation/carve-out projects, including synergy identification, tracking, planning, and implementation execution.
- Develop strategic recommendations to support executive decision-making, growth initiatives, and value creation programs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary and international teams on strategic and M\&A-related projects.
- Apply proven methodologies, frameworks, and tools (including AI-native solutions) to drive successful engagements with both financial buyers (Private Equity) and strategic investors.
Responsibilities
- Structure complex business problems using strategic consulting frameworks such as issue trees and hypothesis-driven approaches.
- Assess KPIs and performance metrics to generate actionable insights that support investment and strategic decisions.
- Manage specific workstreams within pre-deal and post-deal projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and on-time execution.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to project delivery and business development initiatives.
- Work effectively with cross-functional and international teams in demanding project environments.
- Support the preparation and delivery of findings and recommendations to key client stakeholders.
- Apply rigorous conceptual thinking and strong communication skills to deliver compelling outcomes.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the use of Generative AI and AI tools in the workplace, in line with Accenture’s commitment to the responsible and effective use of artificial intelligence.
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Strategy Consulting, Corporate Strategy, M\&A Advisory, or related fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in transformation initiatives and high-pressure environments.
- Proven experience developing business cases, executive presentations, and client deliverables using PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong understanding of the M\&A lifecycle, including target identification, due diligence, value creation, and post-merger integration.
- Comfortable working alongside technical workstreams (e.g., IT-driven initiatives).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in multicultural and international environments.
- English level: C1 (mandatory).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in top-tier consulting firms or transaction advisory practices.
- Experience supporting M\&A strategy initiatives.
- Familiarity with technology-enabled projects and transformation programs.
- Experience in integration projects and synergy capture programs.
- Participation in international or cross-border transactions.
- A Master’s degree or MBA will be considered a strong advantage.
