Logistics Supervisor
Job Description

We are expanding our innovative, award-winning team and currently seeking a Logistics Supervisor.

General scope of role:

Reporting to the Production Manager and working in collaboration with the Construction Assembly Production Supervisor, the Logistics Supervisor coordinates and oversees the traceability and visibility of status of materials throughout production and assembly processes in A5. The Logistics Supervisor coordinates the scheduling, loading and despatch of trucks delivering to site.

The purpose of this role is to ensure that material, product, information and documentation move through the department in a cohesive manner and that status is accurately recorded and clearly visible throughout the assembly and despatch processes.

Direction for the role:

  • Supports production and assembly as per central scheduling
  • Stock control of materials, providing live updates on stock and status
  • Controls status updates on materials and product (e.g. WIP, loading, despatch)
  • Despatching of product and materials, recording of same ensuring traceability
  • Supervising and scheduling the loading of trucks, as per schedule and site requirements
  • Ensure compliance with site and safety requirements for deliveries
  • Maintains a transparent system of sharing live information, clearly visible and accessible by all
  • Liaises with Purchasing Department on transport costs
  • Provides updates on potential delays, root cause analysis and avoidance
  • Promotes a positive, productive culture amongst team members,
  • Consistently developing and improving processes, systems and controls
  • Develop, implement and adhere to relevant company policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all certification requirements, e.g. ISO9001 and EN1090

Competencies of the Role:

  • Proven competence in despatching processes
  • In-depth technical and working knowledge of production, assembly and dispatch processes
  • Practical awareness and understanding of the manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of supply chain and logistics activities
  • IT literate, specifically in Progress Plus, MS 365 Suite
  • Attention to detail, with ability to identify anomalies
  • Experience in managing, motivating and influencing in a dynamic environment of rapidly changing workload, tight deadlines, in the context of high expectations and tight time frames
  • Analytical thinker and effective communicator with decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Efficient work-flow, time and project management skills
  • Strong and effective professional relationship builder with excellent commercial awareness
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player

You will be expected to attend training courses, seminars and business meetings where necessary to assist you in carrying out these duties.
