We build simple, reliable, easy-to-deploy IoT solutions that are engineered to perform for 10+ years — and we're looking for a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to help get that hardware safely and efficiently into the hands of customers worldwide.

Position Summary

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for quoting, arranging, and tracking domestic and international shipments, preparing customs and dangerous goods documentation, and keeping our ERP shipment records accurate and up to date. Because TEKTELIC ships battery-powered electronics globally, this role requires a strong understanding of customs compliance and dangerous goods regulations, along with the organizational skills to manage multiple shipments and priorities at once.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and compare freight quotations across carriers and transportation modes (air, ground, ocean, courier) to select the best cost/service option
  • Prepare and print shipping labels and documentation for outgoing shipments
  • Prepare Dangerous Goods (DG) documentation and shipment processing for products containing lithium batteries, in compliance with TDG, IATA DGR, and IMDG regulations
  • Prepare and process customs and export/import documentation, including commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and HS/tariff classification
  • Contact carriers and freight forwarders to schedule shipment pickups and deliveries
  • Monitor shipments in transit and proactively resolve delays, damages, or other shipping issues
  • Retrieve and enter shipment, tracking, and cost information into the company ERP system
  • Maintain accurate records for customs compliance, audits, and reporting
  • Act as backup for the Shipping Coordinator, including physical shipment preparation as needed
  • Issue RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) confirmations and manage the coordination of incoming and outgoing physical RMA shipments
  • Track RMA status and inventory, ensuring returned units are received, logged, and processed in a timely manner
  • Identify and recommend strategies to reduce shipping costs and improve supply chain processes and procedures
  • Liaise with sales, customer support, and warehouse teams to align on shipment timelines and customer requirements

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, freight coordination, customs brokerage, or shipping/receiving, ideally with international/export shipments
  • Diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field (an asset; equivalent experience considered)
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms and Canadian customs/export regulations (CBSA); experience with CUSMA/USMCA documentation an asset
  • TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) certification required, or willingness to obtain within the first 90 days; IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) certification an asset
  • Experience shipping electronics or products containing lithium batteries is a strong asset
  • Experience with ERP or logistics/inventory management software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for tracking and reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to liaise directly with carriers, customs brokers, and vendors
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving shipping exceptions
  • Ability to lift and move shipment packages (up to approximately 25 kg / 50 lbs) as needed when backing up the Shipping Coordinator
  • Experience handling RMAs or product returns is an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
