We are seeking an experienced Log Truck Driver to join our team.
- This is a permanent role.
- Full-time, with a minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week
- Monday - Friday with weekend jobs available
- Competitive remuneration $30- $35.00 per hour, depending on experience
About the Role
You will be based in Northland
What you will do
- Operate vehicles and provide transport solutions and freight
- Drive your assigned vehicle to the locations instructed by the dispatcher safely.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Document and log work/rest periods and kilometres spend driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size weight route designations parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Manoeuvre trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects accidents or violations
- Adhere to health and safety regulation
- Assist with any other tasks as and when required
The successful applicant will
- At least 2 years of relevant and verifiable experience
- An experienced Class 4 or 5 Drivers’ licence or equivalent is required
- Flexibility to meet the demands of the operation, including working shift work and spending nights away from home
- Clean driving records and capable of operating a digger and a Hiab-equipped truck
- A dedication to Health \& Safety in the workplace
- A proven track record in safety compliance
- Ability to pass a workplace medical exam, including drug and alcohol testing
- You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
