Linux AdministratorJob Overview
We are looking for an experienced Linux Administrator to manage, maintain, and support enterprise Linux infrastructure. The role involves Linux system administration, infrastructure implementation, patch management, troubleshooting, lifecycle management, and supporting large-scale IT environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support enterprise Linux environments, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) platforms.
- Understand customer infrastructure architecture and provide technical support for Linux environments.
- Perform Linux infrastructure implementation, configuration, and operational activities.
- Support transition activities and ensure smooth deployment of services into operational environments.
- Identify technical risks, provide recommendations, and support resolution planning.
- Perform system hardening, security compliance activities, and best practice implementation.
- Manage configuration changes for Linux servers and monitoring integrations.
- Support patch management, upgrades, firmware updates, and system lifecycle activities.
- Troubleshoot Linux server issues and provide technical solutions.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
- Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and technology partners for service delivery.
Required Skills \& Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux System Administration.
- Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration.
- Experience in Linux infrastructure design, implementation, and support.
- Good knowledge of:
- Linux installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- User management and access control
- Logical Volume Manager (LVM)
- File systems and storage management
- System performance monitoring and tuning
- Experience in Linux software and hardware lifecycle management.
- Experience with Linux patch management and upgrade activities.
- Knowledge of enterprise patching tools and server management solutions.
- Experience working with OEM vendors for hardware support, firmware updates, and lifecycle management.
Technical Skills
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration.
- Linux server installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Satellite Server installation, configuration, and administration.
- Cluster technologies including:
- Red Hat Cluster
- Veritas Cluster
- PowerHA
- PCS Cluster
- High Performance Computing (HPC)
- GPFS
- IBM Power / LPAR installation and maintenance.
- NIM Server installation, configuration, and administration.
- Backup technologies such as Cohesity and Networker.
- Understanding of enterprise storage technologies.
- Server monitoring and infrastructure management tools.
- Capacity management and performance optimization.
Project \& Process Knowledge
- Experience working in both project implementation and operational support environments.
- Understanding of IT service management processes (ITIL knowledge preferred).
- Experience with incident, change, and problem management processes.
- Familiarity with ticketing, monitoring, and service management tools.
- Experience coordinating with vendors and technology partners.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL Foundation certification is preferred.
- Experience supporting enterprise or global IT environments.
- Experience working with distributed teams and international stakeholders.
