Legal Counsel (Generalist – Corporate/Contract Law)

About the Role

Join the Legal Division of a well-established Singapore Statutory Board . You will provide legal advice and support across the organisation's full range of functions and duties, working closely with senior management and internal stakeholders on both policy and day-to-day legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with senior management to develop and implement policies and actions
• Draft regulatory instruments, including legislation and subsidiary legislation under the organisation's purview
• Provide legal advice and interpretation on relevant legislation, as well as other applicable Singapore laws
• Draft, review and advise on a broad range of legal issues
• Draft, vet and advise on corporate and contractual matters, including tender documents, MOUs, tenancy agreements and other commercial documents
• Develop internal legal processes and guidance, including maintaining a repository of legal advice rendered
• Advise on and manage potentially contentious matters
• Manage and liaise with external counsel
• Undertake other legal tasks/projects as assigned

What We're Looking For

• Law degree and called to the Singapore Bar (or other Commonwealth jurisdiction)
• At least 4 years' post-qualification experience
• Corporate/contract law experience an advantage
• Prior in-house experience with a Statutory Board or government agency preferred
• Strong analytical skills, versatile and self-motivated
• Able to multi-task and work well under pressure across a wide range of legal work
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Team player, comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
