Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, communication skills, and social-emotional learning.
• Adapt instructional strategies and modifications to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or developmental disabilities.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement techniques and behavioral health strategies to create a safe and nurturing learning environment.
• Collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, special education coordinators, and other professionals to support student progress through IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals and instructional modifications.
• Utilize educational technology tools to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement across various subjects.
• Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, conduct assessments including standardized testing, and communicate regularly with parents about their child's development through parent-teacher conferences.
• Lead classroom activities that promote early childhood education principles, Montessori methods, or preschool best practices while fostering inclusive participation among all students.

Experience

• Proven classroom experience in early childhood education or elementary school teaching roles, preferably within special education or inclusive settings.
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and literacy education tailored for children with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Strong background in behavior management techniques for students with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or with other developmental delays; familiarity with autism spectrum disorders support strategies is highly valued.
• Knowledge of special education law (including IEP processes), instructional modifications, and accommodations necessary for diverse learners.
• Skilled in communication skills essential for effective parent-teacher collaboration and interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Familiarity with educational technology integration to support differentiated instruction and classroom management.

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
