Job Description

Zeal-it is seeking dedicated Lead Fire Fighters to ensure the safety and security of university staff, students, and property. The Lead Fire Fighter will be responsible for responding promptly to fire emergencies, conducting safety inspections, and maintaining firefighting equipment to prevent and control fire hazards across the campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Emergency Response: Lead and participate in firefighting, rescue, and emergency response activities to effectively manage fire incidents on campus.
  • Safety Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of university facilities to identify fire hazards, ensure compliance with safety standards, and implement preventive measures.
  • Fire Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, inspect, and ensure readiness of firefighting equipment, fire extinguishers, alarms, and emergency response tools.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and guide campus fire safety personnel during emergency and routine activities, ensuring effective coordination.
  • Training \& Drills: Assist in organizing fire safety training sessions and emergency drills for staff and students to enhance preparedness.
  • Incident Reporting: Document fire incidents, inspections, and maintenance activities accurately and report to relevant authorities.
  • Fire Prevention: Promote fire safety awareness through campus outreach, safety campaigns, and educational programs.
  • Compliance \& Safety: Ensure all fire safety protocols and regulations are strictly followed to protect campus community and property.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with campus security, local fire departments, and emergency services during incidents.

Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • Hold at least Two to Four years Degree/Diploma related to fire, safety from accredited institution.
  • Minimum of (7) years’ experience in firefighting at least (3) years as a lead firefighter.
  • Certified Firefighter I\&II in accordance with NFPA 1001 - (Accredited by Pro Board/IFSAC).
  • Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations level certification in compliance with NFPA 1072.
  • Valid certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED in accordance with NFPA 1002 / 1041 or equivalent standards.
  • Preferred Certified Fire Officer or instructor (Level I) in accordance with NFPA.
  • Preferred NEBOSH certificate.
  • Have ample knowledge in Local \& international fire safety standards and Regulations
  • (QCDD, OSHA, NFPA … etc.).
  • Knowledge of fire alarm and fire suppression systems in the buildings.

Must have valid Driving License.
