Build the data products that power better decisions.
We're looking for a Lead Data Engineer to take ownership of our cloud data platform and help shape how data is delivered, trusted, and used across the business.
This is more than a technical leadership role. You'll be responsible for establishing the standards, practices, and platforms that enable data-driven decision making, while working closely with stakeholders to turn business challenges into measurable outcomes.
If you enjoy solving complex data problems, building scalable solutions, and partnering directly with the people who use your work, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
Owning and evolving our cloud data platform and data engineering ecosystem
Designing and delivering high-quality data products from concept through to production
Establishing engineering standards, CI/CD practices, monitoring, testing, and governance frameworks
Driving data quality, reliability, scalability, and cost optimisation
Collaborating with analysts, product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to design practical solutions
Mentoring others and helping build strong data engineering practices across the organisation
What we're looking for
You'll bring:
5+ years' experience in Data Engineering
Strong SQL and Python skills
Experience with cloud data platforms and modern data architectures
Experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data products
A strong understanding of data modelling and engineering best practices
The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders
Experience with Snowflake, CI/CD practices, customer data platforms, and modern BI tools will be highly regarded.
This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our data capability at a time when AI adoption, data products, and analytics are becoming increasingly important to the future of our organisation. You'll have the chance to influence strategy, establish engineering standards, and build solutions that make a real difference across the business.
You'll thrive here if you:
Enjoy turning business problems into practical data solutions
Like testing ideas, learning quickly, and continuously improving
Value collaboration and constructive challenge
Are comfortable facilitating discussions, refining requirements, and influencing decisions
Take ownership and enjoy creating measurable impact
If you're excited by the idea of owning outcomes, partnering with stakeholders, and building trusted data products that create value, we'd love to hear from you. This role is best suited to someone who enjoys working closely with stakeholders and seeing their work create tangible business outcomes.
