Heidelberg Materials Australia has an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our Aggregates team at our NATA-accredited laboratory at Brandy Hill Quarry in the Hunter Region.
We are specifically seeking candidates with a background or qualification in construction materials testing, laboratory techniques, or a related field , who are keen to apply their technical skills in a hands-on quarry environment.
This is not your typical white coat lab role. You’ll be working both in the laboratory and out in the field in full PPE, sampling and testing quarry materials and contributing to quality outcomes across our operations.
The successful applicant will be safety-focused, motivated, and bring a strong customer mindset, along with the technical capability to support testing and compliance requirements.
In your new role, you will:
- Conduct testing of quarry materials including aggregates and soils in line with Australian Standards
- Perform sampling in both laboratory and field environments
- Carry out equipment calibration and maintenance
- Maintain NATA requirements and documentation standards
- Support the broader technical team with quality and compliance activities
This role is a great fit if you have:
- A qualification in construction materials testing, laboratory techniques, or a related discipline (highly regarded)
- Previous experience in construction materials testing or a NATA-accredited laboratory
- Strong understanding of testing standards and quality systems (or willingness to learn)
- Excellent commitment to health and safety
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- A proactive approach and ability to work independently
- A high level of attention to detail and customer focus
- Physical fitness and a willingness to work outdoors
- A current driver’s licence
- Availability for weekends and overtime as required
