Your Role:
Job Summary
The Entry-Level PLC/HMI Automation Engineer will support the development and maintenance of PLC, HMI, and control systems for chemical and specialty gas delivery equipment used in the semiconductor industry.
Under the guidance of senior engineers, this role will support PLC logic and HMI development, equipment testing, debugging, commissioning, and technical documentation. The engineer will collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Quality, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams while developing expertise in industrial automation and semiconductor equipment controls.

Key Responsibilities
PLC Software Development
- Support PLC software development and maintenance under the guidance of senior engineers
- Learn and apply PLC programming concepts based on IEC 61131-3 standards
- Support the development of equipment sequences, interlocks, alarms, and status-control logic
- Review and modify PLC programs for Omron, Siemens, or LS platforms
- Perform PLC software testing and debugging
- Learn and apply standard software modules, coding practices, and engineering standards

- Support the implementation of alarms, status displays, diagnostic screens, and data-logging functions
- Verify interfaces between PLCs, sensors, valves, instruments, and other equipment
- Support the checking and troubleshooting of industrial network communications

- Participate in system design reviews and risk assessments

Troubleshooting \& RCA
- Perform PLC and HMI functional testing
- Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and equipment startup activities
- Reproduce equipment issues and review logs to support root cause analysis
- Document test results, issues, and corrective actions
- Work with senior engineers to implement improvements.

- Support equipment inspection and functional testing before shipment
- Participate in customer-site installation and commissioning activities
- Research technical information and support responses to field issues

- Support engineering change management activities

Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of PLCs, automation controls, or embedded systems
- Basic programming skills in one or more of the following:

- IEC 61131-3-based PLC programming languages
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, sensors, actuators, and industrial automation systems
- Ability to analyze problems logically and trace potential causes
- Ability to read and prepare technical documentation

- Willingness and ability to travel for manufacturing, commissioning, and customer-site support

- Knowledge of functional safety and industrial cybersecurity.
- Experience leading technical projects or system architecture reviews.
- Experience collaborating with global engineering organizations.
- Academic, internship, or project experience involving PLCs or HMIs
- Experience using Omron, Siemens, or LS PLCs
- Experience using Pro-face, MXon/M2I, or equivalent HMI platforms
- Basic knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU, Profinet, or EtherCAT
- Experience or academic background in semiconductor equipment, chemical processing, specialty gases, industrial automation, or equipment controls
- Electrical, industrial automation, or equivalent technical certification
- Ability to read technical documentation in English and communicate at a basic professional level
