IT Test Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Test Lead to lead the testing activities for banking applications across Digital Banking, Core Banking, Payments, Cards, Loans, AML, Regulatory, and Enterprise Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing all phases of software testing while leading a team of QA engineers and coordinating with business stakeholders, project managers, developers, and vendors to ensure high-quality software delivery.

The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), SDLC, Agile methodologies, banking business processes, and test management tools.

Key ResponsibilitiesTest Management

• Lead end-to-end testing activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Define the overall test strategy, test approach, and testing scope.
• Develop Test Plans, Test Estimates, Test Schedules, and Test Closure Reports.
• Manage SIT, System Integration Testing, UAT support, Regression Testing, Smoke Testing, Sanity Testing, and Production Verification Testing.
• Ensure testing milestones are delivered on time and within project schedules.
• Monitor test progress and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor QA Engineers and Test Analysts.
• Allocate testing tasks and monitor team performance.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and provide technical guidance.
• Manage offshore and onsite testing teams where applicable.

Test Planning \& Execution

• Review business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documents.
• Prepare and review:
• Test Strategy

• Test Scenarios
• Test Cases
• Test Scripts
• Traceability Matrix
• Ensure adequate test coverage for functional and non-functional requirements.

Defect Management

• Log, prioritize, and track software defects.
• Coordinate defect resolution with development teams.
• Perform defect triage meetings.
• Verify fixes and conduct regression testing.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with:

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• 6–10+ years of Software Testing experience.
• 2–5 years leading testing teams.
• Experience in Banking or Financial Services projects.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and STLC.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies.

Preferred Certifications

• ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL)
• ISTQB Advanced Test Manager
• Certified Agile Tester (CAT)
• Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
• PMP or PRINCE2 (preferred for senior Test Leads)
• Agile Testing Certification

Pay: RM6,191.63 - RM9,402.29 per month
