The IT/ Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining software applications and systems that support the company’s operational and business requirements.
The role involves working closely with management, end users, and other departments to understand business needs, develop reliable software solutions, troubleshoot technical issues, and continuously improve existing applications and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications based on business requirements.
- Analyze user requirements and translate them into functional and technical software solutions.
- Develop web-based, desktop, mobile, or internal business applications as required.
- Write clean, efficient, secure, and maintainable source code.
- Maintain and enhance existing applications, systems, and databases.
- Identify and resolve software bugs, system errors, and performance issues.
- Conduct testing, debugging, and quality assurance before system deployment.
- Develop and maintain databases, queries, reports, and system integrations.
- Integrate applications with APIs, third-party platforms, databases, and other business systems.
- Develop user-friendly interfaces and ensure proper application functionality.
- Implement appropriate software security measures, access controls, and data protection procedures.
- Monitor system performance and recommend technical improvements.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users.
- Prepare system documentation, technical manuals, user guides, and development records.
- Maintain proper source code version control and backup procedures.
- Participate in software upgrades, migrations, and system implementation projects.
- Coordinate with IT personnel, vendors, consultants, and other departments when necessary.
- Conduct user training for newly developed or implemented applications.
- Ensure that developed systems comply with company IT policies and applicable cybersecurity requirements.
- Protect confidential company, employee, client, and system information.
- Perform other software development and IT-related duties assigned by management.
Technical Responsibilities:
- The Software Developer may be required to work with technologies such as:
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript
- PHP, Python, Java, C#, VB.NET, or similar programming languages
- React, Angular, Vue.js, or other frontend frameworks
- Node.js, .NET, Laravel, Django, or other backend technologies
- MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar databases
- REST APIs and third-party system integrations
- Git, GitHub, GitLab, or other version-control platforms
- Cloud-based systems such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
- Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SharePoint, or other business platforms
- Reporting and data visualization tools
- Specific technology requirements will depend on the applications and systems used by the company.
Qualifications \& Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of software development principles and programming concepts.
- Knowledge of relational databases and database management.
- Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Knowledge of API development and system integration is preferred.
- Understanding of cybersecurity, data protection, and secure coding practices is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant software development experience (preferred).
- Experience developing business applications, ERP systems, HR systems, accounting systems, dashboards, or similar internal applications is an advantage.
- Previous GCC experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Experience handling complete software projects from requirements gathering through deployment and maintenance is preferred.
