About the role

We're looking for an experienced Analyst - IT Business to join our Information Technology Services team. In this role, you'll work at the intersection of business and technology, helping shape solutions that improve operational performance, support strategic decision-making and deliver meaningful outcomes across the organisation.

What the role will involve:

As a key member of our IT Business Analysis team, you will:

• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand needs, challenges and opportunities.
• Translate business problems into practical technology solutions, requirements and recommendations.
• Facilitate workshops, gather and analyse requirements, and define business outcomes.
• Develop business cases, options analyses, decision papers and procurement inputs.
• Support Agile delivery teams by maintaining user stories, requirements, priorities and analysis artefacts.
• Identify risks, assumptions, dependencies and impacts to support informed decision-making.
• Assess business readiness and change impacts across people, processes and technology.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance delivery practices, governance and business performance.
• Build trusted relationships across IT, operational and corporate teams to drive successful outcomes.

Key skills and experience:

You'll bring strong analytical capability, business acumen and stakeholder engagement skills, along with the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity.

• Degree qualification in Business, Information Technology, Information Management, Finance, Business Improvement or a related discipline.
• Experience in Business Analysis, ICT Business Analysis, Project Analysis or a similar role.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into clear requirements, process improvements and technology outcomes.
• Experience working with technology-enabled change, software delivery or digital transformation initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills across business and technical audiences.
• Experience developing artefacts such as process maps, user stories, requirements documentation, business cases and decision papers.
• Understanding of Agile delivery practices and business analysis methodologies.

Desirable:

• Business Analysis certification (CBAP, CCBA, ECBA, Agile BA or similar).
• Experience within utilities, critical infrastructure, government or other regulated environments.
• Exposure to IT governance, procurement, enterprise architecture, cyber security, IT service management or vendor engagement.
