Job Overview

MLTS Canada is seeking a professional and reliable English ↔ French Interpreter/Translator to support conferences, community programs, legal-related meetings, educational initiatives, and organizational events across Saskatchewan.

This role involves real-time interpretation, written translation support, and assisting with multilingual communication in professional environments. The ideal candidate is fluent in both English and French, confident in public or event settings, and capable of maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.

Preference may be given to candidates with experience supporting Indigenous organizations, non-profits, educational institutions, or community initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate English ↔ French interpretation during conferences, meetings, presentations, and group discussions
  • Assist with simultaneous or headset-based interpretation during live events
  • Translate written documents, schedules, presentations, or informational materials when required
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all client interactions
  • Support culturally respectful and inclusive communication
  • Coordinate with organizers and event staff to ensure smooth interpretation delivery
  • Prepare notes or terminology references prior to sessions if needed

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English and French (spoken and written)
  • Previous interpretation or translation experience preferred
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Comfortable speaking in professional or public-facing environments
  • Ability to work independently and professionally during live events
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality for in-person assignments
  • Experience with conferences, legal/community interpretation, or educational events is considered an asset
  • Indigenous or First Nations language/cultural knowledge is considered an asset, but not required
