Job Description

Employer: ADM Design Inc.
Location: Newmarket, ON (Head Office), with occasional travel to Friday Harbour and project sites
Employment Type: Full-Time (some evenings/weekends as required)
Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Position Summary

ADM Design Inc. is a growing, full-service interior design and renovation firm specializing in residential and condominium refurbishment projects. We manage projects from initial concept through construction, overseeing both design and execution to ensure a seamless and well-coordinated process.

We are seeking a technically strong Interior Designer who is comfortable working across both design and construction phases. This role is drawing-heavy and detail-oriented, with client interaction and on-site involvement.

This is not a styling-only role. The ideal candidate is confident producing drawings, navigating building codes, and supporting real project execution.

Required Qualifications \& Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, or related field
  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant industry experience
  • ARIDO membership (or eligibility) required
  • BCIN designation (or working toward) considered a strong asset
  • Advanced proficiency in:
  • AutoCAD (required)
  • Revit
  • Chief Architect
  • SketchUp
  • Adobe Creative Suite

Strong understanding of:

  • Ontario Building Code (OBC)
  • Municipal by-laws and permit processes
  • Experience with construction drawings and detailing
  • Experience in condominium refurbishment considered an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to attend site visits and lift materials (25+ lbs)

Core Responsibilities

Technical \& Design

  • Prepare detailed drawing packages (plans, elevations, sections, details)
  • Assist with permit drawings and submissions
  • Interpret and apply building codes and regulations
  • Conduct site measurements and verify existing conditions
  • Support material selections and specifications
  • Coordinate with consultants, trades, and suppliers

Project Coordination

  • Manage project documentation and client files
  • Assist with project scopes, budgets, and timelines
  • Prepare accurate quotes and proposals within required timelines
  • Track orders, materials, and vendor coordination
  • Attend site visits and support project execution

Client-Facing

  • Participate in client meetings and in-home consultations
  • Help define project scope based on budget and feasibility
  • Maintain clear, professional communication throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support closing of new projects by building client confidence

Administrative

  • Prepare correspondence (emails, reports, documentation)
  • Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical)
  • Assist with purchase orders and vendor account management
  • Support general office operations as needed
