Job Description

We're looking for an Interior Design Department Manager who does more than manage drawings — someone who owns the project from the first concept plan to the last executed detail.

This is not a desk-bound role. You'll lead a fully empowered team, present your own concepts to clients, and walk the site to confirm that what was drawn is what got built — right dimension, right material, right finish.

f you believe the small details are what separate a good project from one people talk about, this is your seat.

Key Responsibilities

Interior Design Leadership

Set the design direction and approve concept, design-development, and IFC packages.

Produce and approve space plans, ceiling layouts, flooring, internal elevations, and construction details.

Sign off on material boards, finish schedules, lighting layouts, and FF&E selections.

Establish department-wide design standards that keep output quality consistent across projects.

Team Management

Lead and develop a team of interior designers, visualizers, and CAD technicians.

Balance workload across concurrent projects and gate output quality before it leaves the department.

Build the department's material library, supplier network, and standard detail references.

Delivery & Quality

Review shop drawings for joinery, metalwork, ceilings, and stonework.

Coordinate technically with architectural, electrical, and mechanical scopes without compromising design intent.

Conduct site supervision, verify built-vs-drawn conformity, and issue and close site observations.

Approve samples and mock-ups prior to bulk procurement.

Commercial & Client

Present design proposals to clients and drive review cycles through to sign-off.

Contribute to design scope pricing and review bills of quantities (BOQ).

Coordinate with contractors and suppliers; manage design variations and their cost and schedule impact.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture (Master's is an advantage).

Minimum 7 years' experience in interior design specifically, including 3 years in a managerial role leading a team.

A portfolio containing genuinely executed interior projects — not concept work alone.

Experience in at least one of: hospitality · retail · F&B · corporate offices · high-end residential.

Hands-on KSA market experience: Saudi Building Code, municipal requirements, local supplier landscape.

Fluency in Arabic and English (Arabic is essential for site-level coordination).

Saudi Council of Engineers membership (or willingness to obtain it).

Deep command of design schools, movements, and the distinctions between them — able to identify each style and its defining characteristics (Bauhaus, Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian, Minimalism, Japandi, Industrial, Neoclassical, Contemporary, and regional styles such as Najdi and Hijazi), to judge which suits a given project, client, and context, and to defend that choice to a client on referenced grounds rather than personal taste.

3ds Max + V-Ray or Corona · InDesign - Lumion

AutoCAD (IFC & shop drawings) - Bluebeam Revu - Aconex or Procore
