The Infrastructure Solution Architect will lead the design, governance, and transformation of the University’s IT infrastructure. This role is accountable for developing and maintaining infrastructure standards, architecture principles, and a multi-year roadmap that aligns with the University’s digital transformation goals.
a) Infrastructure Standards \& Roadmap
- Develop own IT infrastructure standards, architecture principles, and a multi-year roadmap.
- Ensure alignment with IT unit objectives, University strategies, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Evaluate, test, and recommend infrastructure and cloud solutions for university- wide adoption.
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and recommend continuous improvements
b) Architecture Design \& Governance
- Analyze and assess the current system architecture to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop scalableandefficient solutions.
- Lead, define, and own High-Level Design (HLD), Detailed Level Design (DLD), and Low-Level Design (LLD) for infrastructure initiatives.
- Produce and govern architectural documents covering logical, physical, cloud, hybrid, and data-center strategies.
- Ensure designs meet enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and IT governance requirements.
- Govern LLD compliance with standards, ITIL/ITSM processes, and operational readiness requirements.
- Integrate new technologies into existing infrastructure to optimize performance.
c) On-Premises, Cloud \& Data Centre Transformation
- Provide architectural leadership in premises, cloud technologies (Microsoft Azure, AWS, etc.).
- Drive transition from traditional data centers to modern physical, hybrid, or cloud infrastructure.
- Promote adoption of virtualization, containerization, platform technologies, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
d) Project \& Delivery Leadership
- Design, test, implement, and transition IT and digital solutions into operations.
- Lead infrastructure streams within complex projects and programs, ensuring objectives and SLAs are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Serve as a focal point for IT infrastructure project delivery, especially cloud-related initiatives.
e) Stakeholder Engagement \& Advisory
- Deliver customer-focused IT services aligned with performance indicators.
- Provide expert advice on complex technical and resource issues.
- Communicate architectural matters clearly through reports and briefings.
- Build strong relationships with Non-Academic and Academic, Digital, Application, and Data Architects.
f) Leadership \& Transformation
- Initiate and manage continuous improvement initiatives (standardization, simplification, consolidation, cost optimization).
- Lead stakeholder expectation management and change management acrossfaculties and departments.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or other related discipline from a recognized institution
- Minimum of 3–5 years of related working experience, including one (1) year at a supervisory level in leading a team of staff.
- Experience in Infrastructure Solution Architecture is required.
- Master’s degree holder can be considered.
Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
