RxFiles is Saskatchewan’s academic detailing service based in the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Pharmacy and Nutrition. RxFiles provides objective, evidence-informed drug information to support optimal prescribing and patient care.
The work of RxFiles translates clinical evidence and real-world experience into practical tools used by healthcare professionals, including drug comparison charts, educational materials, and academic detailing sessions.
Primary Purpose: To develop, maintain, and synthesize evidence-based drug information resources that support optimal prescribing and patient care, primarily through the creation of high-quality drug comparison charts and clinical tools.
Nature of Work: This position reports to the Chief Editor for core content development and works collaboratively with the Director on broader responsibilities and workload planning. The role is based in an in-person office environment within the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan.
The Information Support Pharmacist operates with a high degree of independence and professional judgment, particularly in conducting literature reviews, critically appraising medical evidence, and synthesizing complex information into practical clinical resources. Decision-making involves interpreting evolving scientific evidence, ensuring content accuracy and balance, and determining the appropriate inclusion in RxFiles materials.
The work is project-based with multiple concurrent deadlines, requiring strong organizational and time-management skills. Publication timelines, content updates, and emerging clinical evidence drive work cycles. Collaboration with subject matter experts and participation in team meetings are essential components. Occasional outreach activities, such as conference participation, may be required.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy. Training in evidence-based medicine is an asset.
Licenses: Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) in Saskatchewan.
Experience: Minimum 6 years of pharmacy experience. Experience in research, epidemiology, or knowledge translation is an asset
