Infant Care Leader (TASKA Branch Leader)
Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and organised Infant Care Leader to manage our TASKA centre in Taman Sri Bintang. Unlike a room-based caregiver, this role is responsible for the entire centre – across 5 classes serving children aged 2 months to 32 months. You will lead a team of infant caretakers and assistant teachers, ensure full compliance with JKM/PERMATA regulations, maintain high standards of safety and hygiene, and serve as the primary point of contact for parents and external agencies. This is a leadership role for someone who can balance hands-on infant expertise with operational management.

Key Responsibilities

Centre Leadership \& Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of all 5 classes, ensuring smooth routines, appropriate staffing ratios, and a warm, stimulating environment.
  • Ensure full compliance with Malaysian TASKA licensing requirements (JKM/PERMATA), including staff qualifications, child-to-caregiver ratios, health inspections, and documentation.
  • Maintain and update centre policies, emergency procedures, and incident reporting protocols.
  • Manage inventory of supplies (diapers, formula, cleaning materials, learning resources) and coordinate with admin for timely replenishment.
  • Conduct regular safety checks of facilities, equipment, and outdoor play areas.

Staff Management \& Mentorship

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of Infant Caretakers and Assistant Teachers across 5 classes.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and identify training needs.
  • Support new hires with onboarding and ensure all staff hold valid KAP/ECE/CPR certifications.
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and positive team culture.

Parent \& Community Engagement

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with parents through daily updates, parent-teacher meetings, and open communication.
  • Address parent concerns, feedback, or complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Organise parent orientation sessions, workshops, or centre events (e.g., family days).
  • Serve as the primary liaison with JKM, PERMATA, or other regulatory bodies during inspections.

Curriculum \& Child Development Oversight

  • Ensure each class implements age‑appropriate, developmentally‑focused activities (sensory play, motor skills, language exposure, social-emotional bonding).
  • Review and approve weekly lesson/activity plans submitted by room leads.
  • Monitor individual child progress (milestones, health records) and ensure accurate documentation in the centre’s app or paper logs.

Health, Safety \& Hygiene

  • Enforce strict hygiene protocols (diapering, feeding, sanitisation, sleep safety).
  • Oversee daily health checks for children and staff; manage illness outbreaks per guidelines.

Qualifications \& Requirements

To meet Malaysian TASKA regulatory requirements, candidates must possess:

  • KAP (Kursus Asuhan PERMATA) certificate OR
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or higher (minimum Level 3 equivalent)

In addition to the regulatory requirement, candidates must meet one of the following professional pathways:

Pathway A (Licensed Healthcare Professional with Leadership)

Pathway B (Experienced Infant Care Professional with Leadership)

  • KAP or ECE diploma (as above)
  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable, hands-on professional experience in dedicated infant care (nursery, licensed daycare, professional nanny), with at least 1–2 years in a senior or leadership role (e.g., senior caregiver, room leader, assistant manager).
