About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Infant Caretaker to provide exceptional, developmentally-appropriate care in our nursery (TASKA). You will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and holistic development of infants in a warm, stimulating environment. This role is central to building trusting relationships with both the children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a nurturing, safe, and hygienic environment that supports infants' physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Perform daily health and wellness observations of infants, and update records accurately in our dedicated phone application.
- Plan and conduct age-appropriate daily activities that promote developmental milestones.
- Ensure close, proactive, and positive communication with parents regarding their infant's daily progress, milestones, and developmental achievements.
- Responsively attend to all infant needs, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and fostering secure attachment relationships.
- Supervise infant health and safety at all times, adhering to the highest standards of nursery protocols.
- Contribute positively to the nursery community and participate in team activities.
Qualifications \& Requirements
To comply with Malaysian TASKA regulatory requirements, candidates must possess either a KAP (Kursus Asuhan PERMATA) certificate or a qualification in Early Childhood Education (ECE) . We welcome applications from candidates who meet both the regulatory requirement and one of the following professional pathways:
Pathway A (Licensed Healthcare Professional):
- Graduate/Diploma in Nursing (General or Pediatric).
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license or relevant pediatric nursing certification (e.g., APC certification is a strong plus).
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in infant/childcare settings, clinical pediatrics, or a related field.
Pathway B (Experienced Infant Care Professional):
- KAP (Kursus Asuhan PERMATA) certificate (recognized by JKM/PERMATA) OR
- ECE (Early Childhood Education) certification/diploma (minimum Level 3 or equivalent)
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable, hands-on professional experience in dedicated infant care (e.g., in a nursery, licensed daycare, or as a professional nanny).
- Must hold one or more of the following professional certifications:
- Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Recognized infant care credential (e.g., Certified Infant Caregiver, Newborn Care Specialist certification).
- Relevant early childhood education or development certificates with an infant focus (e.g., Montessori for Infants, RIE® Foundations).
- A genuine passion for infant development and a commitment to professional best practices.
Core Competencies for All Candidates
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent rapport with infants, colleagues, and parents.
- Strong observational skills and a detail-oriented approach to care.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
