Part-Time IGCSE Art & Design Tutor

Location: Star Vista Education, Kajang, Selangor
Employment Type: Part-Time / Hourly Basis
Working Days: 3 hours a week (Weekday, subject to class schedule)

About the Role

Star Vista Education is seeking a passionate and creative Part-Time IGCSE Art & Design Tutor to inspire students and prepare them for success in the IGCSE Art & Design examinations. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator with strong artistic skills, excellent knowledge of the IGCSE syllabus, and the ability to nurture creativity while guiding students in developing high-quality coursework and portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons aligned with the IGCSE Art & Design curriculum.
  • Guide students in developing creative concepts, research, experimentation, and final outcomes.
  • Support students in completing coursework, sketchbooks, portfolios, and examination preparation.
  • Teach a variety of artistic media and techniques, including drawing, painting, mixed media, printmaking, digital art, sculpture, or photography where applicable.
  • Provide constructive feedback and monitor students' artistic and academic progress.
  • Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and independent artistic exploration.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment.
  • Ensure students meet coursework deadlines and assessment objectives.
  • Participate in school exhibitions, art showcases, competitions, or creative projects when required.
  • Communicate regularly with the Academic Team regarding student progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Fine Art, Art & Design, Visual Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching IGCSE Art & Design or equivalent international curriculum.
  • Familiarity with IGCSE assessment objectives, coursework, and portfolio requirements.
  • Strong artistic skills across various media.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Passionate about nurturing creativity and student development.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with the academic team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cambridge IGCSE, OxfordAQA, or other international examination boards.
  • Experience preparing students for external examinations with strong academic outcomes.
  • Knowledge of digital art software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, or similar applications.
  • Experience facilitating student exhibitions or project-based learning initiatives.
