HVAC Engineering Manager

About the Role

Sri Sai Refrigeration is seeking an experienced and technically strong HVAC Engineering Manager to lead and oversee the company’s HVAC and refrigeration engineering activities in Kuwait.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing HVAC engineering operations from design and estimation through installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and project handover. The role requires strong technical knowledge combined with proven leadership, project management, and team-coordination abilities.

The Engineering Manager will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, engineers, technicians, and internal management to ensure HVAC projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with applicable specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage HVAC engineering and project activities from planning through completion.
• Review HVAC designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical submittals.
• Supervise HVAC installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and handover activities.
• Manage engineers, supervisors, technicians, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Coordinate HVAC works with electrical, plumbing, civil, architectural, and other MEP disciplines.
• Monitor project schedules, manpower, materials, procurement, and overall progress.
• Review quantities, material requirements, quotations, and technical proposals.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and contractors to resolve technical and project-related issues.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure installations comply with approved drawings and specifications.
• Ensure HVAC systems are designed and installed for reliable performance, energy efficiency, and maintainability.
• Identify technical problems and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Kuwait regulations, project specifications, and recognized HVAC standards.
• Prepare and review technical reports, progress reports, method statements, and project documentation.
• Support tendering, estimation, costing, and technical evaluation when required.
• Monitor quality, health and safety, and engineering standards across projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technical staff.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and key project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of professional experience in HVAC engineering, with substantial experience in project execution and management.
• At least 3–5 years in a senior engineering, project management, or engineering management position.
• Strong experience with commercial, industrial, residential, or large-scale HVAC projects.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC systems, including chilled-water systems, package units, VRF/VRV, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation, ductwork, pumps, cooling towers, and related equipment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Good working knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, and applicable Kuwait building/HVAC requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP and/or HVAC design and load-calculation software is an advantage.
• Strong project planning, cost-control, procurement, and contractor-management skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Kuwait/GCC experience is strongly preferred.
• Valid Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE) membership or eligibility for membership is preferred/required as applicable to the position. Current Kuwait engineering vacancies commonly specify KSE membership for senior engineering roles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional engineering certification or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with HVAC estimation, tendering, and commercial evaluation.
• Experience working with consultants, MEP contractors, developers, and major clients.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC controls.
• Experience with energy-efficiency and HVAC optimization initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of project management tools and reporting systems.
• Previous management experience within an HVAC, MEP, refrigeration, or facilities-services company.

Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant should be comfortable working both in the office and on project sites and should be capable of making sound technical decisions while maintaining quality, safety, cost, and schedule objectives.
